Montgomery Wildlife is a family-owned and operated company protecting homes across southeastern Pennsylvania. Getting wild animals out of a house — and keeping them out — is work we take personally, because our name is on every job.
We hold ourselves to two standards that never compete with each other: do right by the homeowner, and do right by the animal. Our technicians train in animal behavior, humane trapping practice, advanced exclusion technique, and the finish carpentry that makes our repairs disappear into the home.
Our Story
Where We Come From
Before this family ever set a trap, we built and finished high-end homes. Gregory Jahner spent decades as a master carpenter, and in the late 1990s his clients started asking him a different kind of question: something's living in my attic — can you help? His answer became a business. Find the entry points. Get the animals out without hurting them. Then close up the house the way a carpenter would: proper materials, clean lines, no trace of the damage left behind.
Today Gregory's sons carry that standard across three regions of the country. Thomas leads Montgomery Wildlife here in southeastern Pennsylvania, serving Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia Counties. The trucks and the territory have changed; the method hasn't. Every job still ends the way Gregory's did — with the animals gone, the house sealed, and the repair invisible from the curb.
That carpentry inheritance is the practical difference between us and a pest control company that added "wildlife" to its sign. Anyone can set a trap. Very few can rebuild a chewed-open soffit so you'd never know it happened.
The Carpentry Difference
Our Work Speaks for Itself
Our rule of thumb: if a neighbor can spot our repair from the sidewalk, we haven't finished yet.
Bat Colony Exclusion
King of Prussia, PA
A couple woke at 2AM to a bat circling their bedroom — the kind of call we drop everything for. We captured that bat the same night, and the inspection that followed told the larger story: a colony had been roosting in the attic for some time, entering through gaps along the roofline. Over the next few days we installed one-way exit devices, let the colony evict itself at dusk, then sealed every gap with fitted, color-matched materials. The homeowners got their first full night's sleep in a while, and the roofline looks like nothing ever happened.
Groundhog Burrow & Shed Barrier
Doylestown, PA
Groundhogs had tunneled under a backyard shed and shrugged off every DIY deterrent the owners tried. We trapped at the burrow itself — no guesswork — and once the animals were out, we trenched and installed a buried barrier around the shed's perimeter that groundhogs can't dig past. The structure sits level and protected, and the work carries our written 10-year warranty.
Raccoon Removal & Full Attic Restoration
Lower Merion, PA
By the time this family went up to investigate the noise, a raccoon family had spent months turning their attic into a den: insulation shredded, stored belongings destroyed, everything soiled. We trapped and removed the raccoons, raccoon-proofed every potential entrance on the home, then gutted and restored the attic — contaminated insulation out, surfaces treated, fresh insulation in. We documented the damage throughout so their insurance claim went smoothly. Their words, not ours: it looked better than the day they moved in.
Our Philosophy
Animal Lovers, Honestly
Plenty of companies say it. Here's what it looks like on our jobs.
We use humane traps and check them promptly — an animal in a cage in July sun is not an outcome we accept. We time spring and summer work around litters, because trapping a nursing mother and abandoning her babies in a wall isn't removal, it's cruelty with a receipt. Orphaned young go to licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Bats are never trapped at all; one-way devices let them leave at dusk and lock behind them, and we won't run bat exclusions during maternity season when flightless pups would be sealed inside.
And we don't lace a home with poison. A poisoned mouse dies somewhere you can't reach, a poisoned carcass can climb the food chain to an owl or a fox, and the entry holes are still wide open. Trapping plus exclusion solves the problem; poison just hides it.
Everything we do is handled in accordance with Pennsylvania Game Commission regulations — we're licensed by the Commission and answer to its standards.
Know the Difference
What Makes Us Different From Pest Control Companies?
The typical playbook
- Spray foam in the gap and call it sealed
- Staple bare chicken wire over the vent
- Scatter rodenticide and schedule a monthly recurring charge
- Seal the roofline with the animals still inside
- Race through stops to maximize the day's route
- Guarantee only the single patch, not the home
Our playbook
- Inspect the entire structure, not just the obvious hole
- Confirm every animal is out — including babies — before anything gets sealed
- Repair with copper mesh, galvanized hardware cloth, fitted metal, silicone, and mortar
- Finish repairs to match the home so the fix is invisible
- Stay until it's done right, then put a 10-year guarantee in writing

Our Guarantee
Permanent the First Time — In Writing
Permanent the first time — that's the standard, and it's in writing. Every exclusion we complete is covered by a 10-year written warranty: if wildlife re-enters through any point we sealed, we come back and fix it at no cost to you.
We can make that promise because the materials and methods are chosen to outlast the paper they're guaranteed on. It's also why our phone rings the way it does — local police stations and municipalities refer their wildlife calls to us, and satisfied homeowners hand our number over the fence to their neighbors. A company that plans to see you again in six months doesn't write guarantees like ours.

What Our Customers Say
"Montgomery Wildlife is a top notch organization! Thomas is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt. He helped my in-laws with a groundhog problem, and with their referral we called him about a squirrel in our attic. Within hours of him setting up humane, no-kill traps, the squirrel was caught. He did a thorough inspection and located where it got in. I would highly recommend Montgomery Wildlife to anyone. First rate all the way!"

"Montgomery Wildlife really went above and beyond for us! It must have been months before we realized we had raccoons in the attic. The boxes we'd stored and all of the insulation was destroyed and covered in urine and feces. Not only did they trap a family of raccoons out of the attic, but they also completely fixed all the damage and restored our entire attic. When they were finished, it looked even better than the day we moved in!"

Inspections That Find What Flashlights Miss
A wildlife job is only as good as its inspection. We climb, crawl, and ladder the whole structure, and we back the eyeballs with technology: inspection cameras for wall voids and burrows, and remote trap monitoring that verifies outcomes instead of assuming them. Every entry point gets found, every result gets confirmed, and every job gets documented.
